Undergraduate students
The EMIC lab is almost always home to undergraduate students at the University of Kansas, who serve as research assistants (RAs).
RA tasks are many, ranging from recruitment to data collection to analysis and dissemination. Many RAs enroll in PSYC 480 and receive credit hours for this work. Please reach out if you are interested in joining the team!
Graduate students
I am honored that you are interested in working together! I am taking grad students for fall 2026. You can find more information about the application here: https://gradapply.ku.edu/apply
My current focus is on capturing emotion in everyday life, using experience sampling, ambulatory physiology, and mobile sensing, with a heavy emphasis on natural language. I look forward to hearing from applicants whose interests and skills align with these priorities.
Please note that there is an admissions committee that reviews all graduate applications to the KU department of psychology. As a rule, I do not meet with prospective students until they have been positively evaluated by the committee.
Of course, feel free to reach out with any specific questions.
Postdocs
I am not currently hiring for a postdoctoral researcher, but if you are interested in writing a grant or securing external funding to support postdoctoral work at the EMIC lab, please contact me directly to discuss!
